The Reef knot could be used for tying it to a nail and then putting the fish on the hook that is connected to the knot.

Reef Knot
This is is the Reef knot that I tied. We tied some knots for our Whetu Survivor that we have been doing over the past few weeks. I give the Reef Knot a difficulty rating that is 1 out of 5 because it is the simplest knot and the Reef Knot was the one that I mastered first try when I did not even know it was the reef knot.
