Bush Survival
1. What is the S.T.O.P acronym for survival:
Stop, Think, Observe, plan.
2. Shelter
- Make sure to have your shelter on flat ground.
- If it is windy build your shelter under trees.
- High ground is the best place to build your shelter because you will be spotted by
- a search party.
- Don't build a shelter near rivers because if there was a flood you will get majorly
- hurt and your shelter will get destroyed.
3. Finding fresh water
- Before you collect the water make sure the water is clean because you will get sick.
- Freshwater can come from creeks but the creeks that you would want to get the
- water from is the creeks in the sun because the sun kills the bugs.
- If you want to hold the freshwater and you did not bring a water bottle
- you can dig a hole in the ground and no matter how deep the hole is it will
- still, keep the water in there.
4. Fire
- When you are making a fire make sure there is no
- wind because the wind
- put your fire out.
- Make sure the woof you are using is dry because if it is not
- dry your fire won't light.
- Make your fire near a creek because you will need to put out
- your fire with water and the creek has the most
- water and you do not want to be
- wasting the water that you will drink.
5. Basic First Aid
- In your basic first aid for an injury you will need some bandages just in case it is a bad injury, you will need plaster if your injury is little but it is bleeding and last you will need tissues to hold the blood so it will stop bleeding.
- If you are in an area with lots of mosquitos you will need bug repellant and some cream if your bite gets itchy.
- You should put your first aid kit in a safe cool place where children won't get it.
6. Signal for help
- To signal for help in the bush try to get on some high ground
- and wave your hands around when a helicopter comes.
- Get high ground for this one as well but scream out loud
- HELP because someone might hear you.
- And last build a shelter on high ground because someone
- see you.
